A prominent and talented representative of our satirical literature, Ne'mat Aminov, was awarded the annual Oybek prize of the Writers' Union of Uzbekistan in 1987 for his services in developing Uzbek literature.

Ne'mat Aminov's stories have been published in Polish, Bulgarian, Romanian, Czech, Russian, Ukrainian, Belarusian, Tajik, Turkmen, Azerbaijani, Georgian, Kalmyk, as well as Mongolian, Afghan, Uyghur, and Urdu languages.

Biography

A prominent and talented representative of our satirical literature, Ne'mat Aminov, was born on July 17, 1937, in the Romitan district of the Bukhara region, into a blacksmith's family.

After finishing secondary school, he studied at the Faculty of History and Philology of the Bukhara Pedagogical Institute named after Fayzulla Xo'jayev (1954-1959).

Ne'mat Aminov began his career as a correspondent for the Bukhara Regional Radio Broadcasting Committee. In 1973, he was invited to Tashkent to work for "Mushtum" magazine, where he worked as an executive secretary until 1985. In 1989, he served as deputy editor-in-chief at "Sharq yulduzi" magazine, then headed "Mushtum" magazine, and led the republic's "Ma'naviyat va ma'rifat" (Spirituality and Enlightenment) public center.

Ne'mat Aminov passed away on October 18, 2005.

His first satire was published in 1965 in "Mushtum" magazine under the title "Ustoz, a'lam".

Activities

The author's first story collection, "Ikki pullik obro'", was followed by the publication of the books "Qirq uchinchi pochcha" (1970), "Labihovuz xandalari" (1977), "Chinorlar qo'shig'i" (1984), "Elkasiz polvon" (1986), "O'g'ri mushukcha" (1987), "Qahqaha" (1987), "Yallama yorim" (1988), and "Chol bolaning ertaklari" (1990).

When speaking about Ne'mat Aminov, his major satirical work titled "Yolg'onchi farishtalar" (1976-1984) is mentioned first.

The work consists of the novellas "Elvizak" and "Suvarak", which are directed toward a single goal.

Ne'mat Aminov was awarded the annual Oybek prize of the Writers' Union of Uzbekistan in 1987 for his book "Yolg'onchi farishtalar".

The author was awarded the title of "People's Writer of Uzbekistan" for his services in developing Uzbek literature (1992).
